a great perspective to the arts in our life · Jun 22, 10:54 PM by Andreas W Gerdes

“The arts have helped mankind deal with reality since stories were told round the fire and we drew on cave walls. The arts help us to exercise our emotions. We are surrounded by art and overwhelmed by our emotions.

From the pictures children have drawn for us, the poetry, the songs, and banners, to the concerts, the plays, and the operas that we have been invited to attend – use the arts to heal your heart.

....” – words from a fire fighter who survived 9/11

the above text I got today from an artist in NYC. a great perspective to the arts in our life.

enjoy collecting art I felt in love with since age 16 – currently I am exploring a concept to add value to the contemporary art market. let me know if you are open to talk about it and exchange views and insights – I am.

  1. Enchante, Andreas W. Gerdes—I am a New Yorker, born and bred. Now this – a concept to add value I could talk about possibly. Possibly, I will be your new neighbor as well, so we can also chat over a conceptual fence unless an actual one exists. Sorry, couldn’t help myself- a little art joke. I was married to “the Grandfather of Conceptual Art” Lawrence Weiner and oh how they struggled at the time to come up with a way to label the work of the mid to late sixties that was appearing.
Rumours abound and I heard a buzz about Castelli’s being in Andes. What a funny thought. My first husband is or was with Leo. I miss him, Leo I mean. My ex is still family—both of them but I favor the second one who writes away in Delhi. It is how I got to know Andes.
I am always ready to throw out an opinion or a thought or two. Debbie my possible landlord, next door to your Manor said I should look you up on the net but what she didn’t tell me was that you would make me laugh so and smile some as well. Your energy is startling.
Hmmm, to add value to the contemporary market sounds like a conundrum or do I mean oxymoron? I certainly look forward to hearing from you.
In the meantime I wish you well,
